Apple BoyThe Welsh Menu Live hits Swansea City Centre this August Bank Holiday and will encompass chef demonstrations, hands on sessions for children and adults, high quality street food, great entertainment and producer stalls selling the finest produce Wales has to offer.

This ticketed event takes place over three days and an exciting schedule of demonstrations and talks has been organised. The show will appeal to lovers of fine food, and those with an interest in local, seasonal produce, showcasing everything from Welsh wine and cider to handmade cakes, and everything in between.

Swansea set for scrumptious summer event

The ultimate foodie event for South Wales launches in Swansea this August. The Welsh Menu Live will give visitors access to the finest local and regional produce during the August Bank Holiday weekend (25-27 August).

This new event, the brainchild of Swansea company Figleaf Media Ltd., launches with a Tutored Tasting Dinner on the evening of Friday 24 August hosted by The Dragon Hotel, and runs throughout the weekend with Producer Pavilions, a Street Food Zone, Entertainment, Chef Demos and an Education Zone offering a great day out for families and foodies alike.

Bryn WilliamsAmongst the highlights of this three day event will be a live cooking demonstration from London-based Welsh chef Bryn Williams.  Bryn, who shot to fame on the BBC’s Great British Menu, is now Chef Patron of Odette’s, a fine dining restaurant in London’s Primrose Hill, and makes a point of selecting the finest Welsh produce for his menu.  In addition to cooking live, Bryn will also be signing copies of his first book, “Bryn’s Kitchen”, which was the inspiration for his recent TV series, Cegin Bryn, on S4C.

The Welsh Menu is the new food and drink brand from Figleaf Media Ltd., and event director Chris Willliams said, “The Welsh Menu Live is an exciting new event for Wales, and we have a schedule of scrumptious activities planned across the weekend. We’re delighted to give small Welsh producers an opportunity to promote their excellent food and drink products to Swansea locals and Bank Holiday visitors.”
